The Radzivills was one of the greatest families in the history of Belarus. The representatives of this clan made a big influence on the national culture and our spiritual heritage. The Radzivills had a high ascendancy in the political, social, economical sphere. By some historians this family was called “uncrowned kings” - so powerful and mighty it was. But today we are grateful to the Radzivills for their cultural impact. That’s not a secret, that the members of this family used to open libraries, printing-houses and the other foundings of this type. Moreover the first printing-house on the territory of Belarus was organized in Brest under the trusteeship of Nikolay Radziwill Chorny (the Black). So called "Brest" or "The Radziwill" Bible was printed in 1563. This book is presented as the high point of printing masterpiece of XVI century. Also the famous family collected paintings and weapons, different precious objects, the things, that we can see in the museum even nowadays. So, to my mind, the impact of the Radzivills on the development of book culture is bigger, than we usually use to think.
I think, most of people couldn't name more recognizable family than the Radziwill family. We can't disagree with the fact that the family left its footstep on our history. Members of the family were chancellors, governors and hetmans of Lithuania. During the first half of the 17th century, the Radziwiłłs were the most influential and richest family among the magnate dynasties of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.The Radziwiłłs also gained international importance manifested in family relations with German princely dynasties. Several family members have been involved in domestic and foreign political arenas. We shouldn't forget that the Radziwiłł family left us a total of 23 palaces. For example, Mir Castle, Lubcza Castle, Nesvizh Castle. Our goal is to save those amazing castles for future generations. To sum up, the Radziwill family made a great contribution into the history of Belarus and noone knows what would we own now or how changed our history without them.
To my mind the Radzivills made a lot of things, which were really significant for that time. Now we have many historical works about them. We have different exhibitions. All of those facts tell us about the influence on Belarus. Firstly I want to say about the legend. I think that any person can tell you about Women in Black. Also the Radzivills built many cultural buildings, such as theaters and museums. If to talk about the Radzivills , we can't say nothing about castles. Of course, the main thing that they made is building Nesvizh castle. So as you can see the Radzivills made a lot of things for developing the culture of Belarus.
From my point of view, words "impact" and "contribution" mean not only spiritual heritage and influence on people, but material things too. Sometimes palaces and libraries live longer than words. Words are written in books, kept in libraries. I want you to pay attetion to a magnificient estate of Radzivills. Mir and Nesvizh castles are the honour of our country and a surprise for the foreigners.It demonstrates strength and power of our country. A moat round the castle shows our impregnability. Also it's impossible to forget about an old, massive, but still virgin and unspoilt forest-park in Radzivills' estate. The duke brought there rare spieces of trees and plants and created a brand new image of it. Our country always seemed to be a conservative one, but this innovative ideas characterised us as developing and modern nation. And even the statue of the dog, who saved master's life shows how kind-hearted and sensitive we are. Isnt't it enough to say that the impact of Radzivills was HUGE and we can contemplate it even nowadays?
