«The intellectual environmentalist Sometimes you wonder whether environmentalism is a fad or a true necessity. You are aware that something serious is happening to the planet, and it does worry you, but only as much as the economic crisis. It is important for you to earn enough money to consume what you want, entertain yourself and look after your body in order that you can keep looking young. You are altruistic, so you react generously whenever there are media reports of disasters in other parts of the world and you worry about the future for others as well as for your family and friends. Generally, you try to follow the advice from public campaigns on what can be done for the environment because of your socially responsible attitude».
Frankly speaking, I am not deeply involved in the activities of environmentalist, but the characteristic, which was given to me in a result of the test, is pretty right. I believe, that, as Pink have said, «We have only one planet. And it will befriend us, if we befriend it. Another way - look around and see, what is going on…» The future if our planet is just a question of relation. And one day we will just get what we deserve.
Unfortunately, there are some problems with opening the link but still I would like to express my personal point of view on this question. Nowadays more and more people are talking about the environment and the problems it has. Of course, there are such common problems as lack of fresh water, air pollution, acid rains, deforestation and etc. Frankly speaking, I would like to express my thoughts on another problem. To my mind, being environmentally friendly means not only caring about the nature but also thinking about the creatures that live around us. How many of you thought about that? When we start talking about protecting the environment, we usually mention that we should reuse, recycle and reduce, but what about animals? Don’t you think that we should take care of them too? But what do we do instead of that? Kill them, eat them and treat them as if they are not alive. Why do people think they have a right to kill a creature that breathes and lives? From my point of view, not everybody understands that the same animal that we see somewhere in the field is killed and eaten by people. If you had a chance to see how this animal is being killed, would you eat its meat later? I doubt that. Luckily, many people now are starting to think about this problem and becoming vegetarians or vegans. Of course, we can’t change a whole world in one second but if we start from ourselves, we can change a lot.
