  2. I think the fact that one of the greatest painters were John Constable (1776 - 1837) because he has developed a kind of painting, His father did not favor art but no matter what has become one of the most famous painters of the world. He was able to show the inside life of nature. One of his popular paintings are: "Hay Wain" and "The Flatford Mill".

  4. I think that a great contribution to British art made William Turner. He greatest landscape and mariner painter. I believe that these kinds of art the most beautiful. At 14 he entered the Royal Academy school. And already at 15 his water colors were exhibited at the Royal academy. Already it showed his craving and desire to draw. Throughout his life he wrote a lot of pictures such as "The Fighting Temeraire", "Rain, Steam and Speed", "Light and Color", "Fisherman at Sea" and others. Turner never married he devoted his life to art. That's why I think it is the best artist and the fact that he made a great contribution to the arts in Britain

  6. I consider that Thomas Gainsborough's contribution to the British painting is the greatest. He was an excellent portrait painter and master of his craft. His portraits were popular among people and society went to him for his amazing works. In addition to that, he created a national type of the English portraits. Also he was one of the first to be elected to the newly established London Academy of Arts. Besides that Gainsborough painted his portraits in details and paid a lot of attention to the background, which often was a well-observed country scene. His pictures were in clear tones and pleasing to look at. He was the first English artist who painted his native countryside so sincerely.

  7. All of these artist were truly great people and their contribution to British painting was really important. But I think Thomas Gainsborough's contribution was the most important and the greatest, because he created a national type of the English portrait. Also he was an out-of-door painter, so the backgrounds of his portraits are often well-observed country scenes and I think that was unusual for portraits.

  8. All of these artists have made a great contribution to the art. But I believe that the greatest contribution has made William Turner. He created some hundreds of paintings and some thousands of water-colors and drawings. The name of William Turner is famous above all other landscape painters.

  9. I think that John Constable's is the greatest. I like that he evolved his own style of painting, unlike the other styles. Also he included all greens in his palette. But i'm sure that we shouldn't allot one of them, because everyone did something incredible for fine art.
